Therapy FAQs
Starting therapy is a big decision and it often comes with a lot of questions. My goal is to make this process feel as clear and stress-free as possible because no one needs more anxiety in their life. Below are some of the most common questions I hear from people getting ready to start therapy.
If you want a therapist who is warm, direct, and willing to go deeper than surface-level coping skills, we’ll likely be a good fit. I work best with women who are tired of pushing through and ready to explore the patterns underneath the anxiety, people-pleasing, relationship struggles, and emotional exhaustion. This work is honest, collaborative, and focused on real change.

You don’t need a single traumatic event to benefit from trauma therapy. Trauma isn’t only about what happened. It’s about how your nervous system learned to survive.
Growing up with emotional inconsistency, criticism, walking on eggshells, being the “strong one,” or never feeling fully chosen can leave deep imprints. Trauma therapy helps us understand how those experiences shaped your anxiety, self-doubt, overthinking, people-pleasing, or body responses. It’s about creating lasting change, not reliving the past.
Sessions are conversational, grounded, and paced intentionally. We’ll talk, notice patterns, explore emotional or body responses, and gently work toward deeper understanding and regulation. Trauma therapy does not mean reliving every painful memory. We move at a pace that feels safe and collaborative.
I am also trained in multiple trauma therapies that we can use in session, including EMDR.
Individual therapy sessions are $150 per session. I am a private pay practice, which allows us to work at your pace without insurance restrictions or third-party involvement. Payment is due at the time of session. I can provide superbills for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

I primarily use EMDR, CPT, somatic therapy, and trauma-informed talk therapy. You don’t need to know anything about these modalities ahead of time. I’ll explain what we’re doing and why, and we’ll choose approaches that feel supportive and manageable for your nervous system.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, especially early on, to build momentum and safety. As therapy progresses, some clients choose to move to biweekly sessions. We’ll decide together based on your needs, capacity, and goals.
In terms of for how long, everyone’s timeline is different, especially with complex trauma. Some clients see changes within a few months. Others prefer longer-term work because it feels stabilizing and supportive. You set the pace and I follow your nervous system, not a clock.
Both! My in-person space is located in Dallas and I can see virtual clients from anywhere in Texas. Some people love the structure of coming into the office. Others prefer the comfort of working from home. We can talk about what works best for you.
